Micronised lactose for use as a fine fraction or for producing agglomerates with drug substance

Micronised lactose with a D50 below 5 microns. Lactohale® 300 is used to develop customer specific lactose blends and for agglomerates of drug and microfine lactose particles.

    How does your production of inhalation lactose differ from your tabletting grades?

    Inhalation lactose is specifically produced and tested to meet inhalation requirements. We can customise a grade of inhalation lactose to meet specific product performance requirements. Please click here for more information or contact the responsible DFE sales representative.

    What is the difference between Pharmatose® and Lactochem® on one hand and Respitose® and Respitose® and Lactohale® on the other hand?

    Pharmatose® and Lactochem® are brands for tableting grade lactose that is designed for oral dosage applications. This means that it will be swallowed and enter the digestive tract and meets the current requirements of the USPNF/Ph.Eur./JP. Respitose® and Lactohale® are brands designed for inhalation applications and as there is a chance that some of the material will be inhaled then the microbiological requirements are tighter. Respitose® and Lactohale® also has a tighter particle size distribution to enhance its performance in inhaled devices.
