Coarse lactose particles with good flow 

Lactohale® 100 is predominantly crystalline lactose where the particle size profile has been controlled by sieving as the primary process. It provides good flow properties and the fines content can also be controlled to achieve the correct performance. Typically Lactohale® 100 has a mean particle size above 100 microns.

    How does your production of inhalation lactose differ from your tabletting grades?

    Inhalation lactose is specifically produced and tested to meet inhalation requirements. We can customise a grade of inhalation lactose to meet specific product performance requirements. Please click here for more information or contact the responsible DFE sales representative.

    What is the difference between Pharmatose® and Lactochem® on one hand and Respitose® and Respitose® and Lactohale® on the other hand?

    Pharmatose® and Lactochem® are brands for tableting grade lactose that is designed for oral dosage applications. This means that it will be swallowed and enter the digestive tract and meets the current requirements of the USPNF/Ph.Eur./JP. Respitose® and Lactohale® are brands designed for inhalation applications and as there is a chance that some of the material will be inhaled then the microbiological requirements are tighter. Respitose® and Lactohale® also has a tighter particle size distribution to enhance its performance in inhaled devices.
